The Armed Forces Race Challenge (AFRC) Championship is a MS UK recognised circuit racing championship with a purpose of encouraging maximum participation in Circuit Racing for UK Armed Forces personnel, veterans and members of the emergency services.
Fly Motorsport Ltd have partnered with AFRC as the championship promoter for 2023. Working hand-in-hand with 750 Motor Club the championship is destined for another season of bumper grids with an eclectic mix of cars.
Fly Motorsport directors Chris and Nicola Slator have been directly involved in the promotion, administration, development and delivery AFRC since Chris started volunteering with it in 2015.
Nicola, as championship promotor will enable the commitment required to not only maintain the championship but continue it’s growth as this now exceeds the capacity available at a voluntary level. The new partnership will allow a dedicated resource to ensure the competitors and partners are receiving the best value for money and seamless paddock experience as well as benefitting from existing successful partnerships and the development of future ones.
The journey the championship has been on has been exciting and successful with Chris Slator and Keith Attwood having effectively pooled resources over the last few seasons, but the time which needs dedicating to running it is increasing beyond capacity. Fly Motorsport have all the contacts, experience and capacity to maintain the high quality experience and atmosphere competitors have come to expect and continue championship growth.
We also look forward to continuing to promote the ethos at the heart of AFRC; it’s introduction and development of novice drivers. New engagements each season see UK Armed Forces personnel develop as novice drivers as well as benefit immeasurably personally and in linked skill areas. Having previously seen a minimum of four new drivers per season, the championship will continue to define itself by these goals.
Having extended the partnership with 750 Motor Club for a 9th consecutive season the competition sees grids at some of the best tracks the UK has to offer. Two trips to Silverstone (National and International), Snetterton, Croft and Donington Park (GP layout) will comprise the 10-round championship.
