The 2022 Armed Forces Race Challenge Championship 2nd race weekend gets back under way on 28th May at Croft Circuit, North Yorkshire. Visiting for the first time since 2016 the championship brings an entry list in excess of 25 cars for 2x 20 minute races alongside other well supported 750 Motor Club formulae.
RAF Veteran racer Paul Waterhouse currently leads the championship ahead of Doug Inglis and reigning champion Jon Candler in 3rd.
Whether the racing is in the lower tiers or national British Touring Car Championship the circuit layout, formally RAF Croft, delivers exciting racing. The Jim Clarke Esses and Barcroft reward the brave whilst the Complex and Hairpin are testing technical sections.
Operated by British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) the circuit offers excellent viewing facilities for spectators. A recent signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, BARC committed to supporting serving personnel and their families. Ben Taylor, BARC Chief Executive, said “We have a great history with the armed forces, not least because the three of our circuits are former RAF airfields. Thruxton is right in the heart of a military community in Hampshire, while Croft too has Catterick right on its doorstep. As a result we have always been very conscious of the military links in our areas.”
Showcasing BARC support to the military community entry prices on the day have been reduced to £10 for Armed Forces personnel (£17 normal price) with children 15 and under admitted free of charge. Car parking is free, as is paddock access.
